Belgium - a small country sandwiched between three powerful neighbors is influenced by all three of them while maintaining its own identity. Major attractions are the capital city of Bruxelles, the old towns Ghent and Bruges as well as the major diamond center Antwerpen. Almost everywhere there are castles and fortifications a legacy of the history of confrontation in the area.
