Jordan is an oasis of calm surrounded vy multiple conflicts and hot spots which leads to a heavy military presence inside the country to ensure safety and peace. It is worth visiting for the multiple Crusader castles, Roman ruins (including in the capital Amman), Arab fortresses and of course the most well known sight Petra, immortalized as the Holy Grail site in an Indiana Jones movie. The tourist infrastructure is quite developed and there are multiple other sights to see including Madaba with its beautiful mosaics.
